Ingredients

  • Fish (1 kg)
  • Red chilli powder (1 tbsp)
  • Turmeric powder(1/2 tsp)
  • All spice powder (1 tbsp)
  • Food color yellow ( 1/2 tsp)
  • Lemon juice (2 tbsp)
  • Ginger garlic paste (2 tbsp)
  • Tamarind pulp (3 tbsp)
  • Roasted cumin seeds coarsely crushed (2 tsp)
  • Carom seeds ground (1/2 tsp)
  • Salt (1 1/ 2 tsp)
  • Dried fenugreek leaves powdered (1 tsp)
  • Turmeric powder (1/2 tsp)
  • Roasted crushed red chilies (1 tsp)
  • Roasted gram flour (4 tbsp)
  • Oil for deep frying

Directions For Lahori Fish

  1. In a bowl mix all the ingredients except fish and oil to make a thick paste.
  2. Add fish and apply paste thoroughly over every piece.
  3. Cover and let it rest for half an hour.
  4. Heat oil in a wok.
  5. Gradually add fish fillets , do not add more than four filllets at a time.
  6. Deep fry until golden brown.Serve hot with Pudina chutney (mint sauce).
  7. Serve hot with Pudina chutney (mint sauce).
